Michigan's 9th Congressional District is located in the Detroit suburbs of Oakland County. The 9th District is the heart of the American auto industry. Chrysler is headquartered in the district as are 25 of the world's 100 largest automotive suppliers. The district is home to several institutions of higher learning such as Oakland University, Walsh College, Oakland County Community College, Rochester College, and Oak Tech. The public schools in the district are among the best in Michigan and the nation.
